CO-DESIGNING & TELEHEALTH

OVERVIEW

Project Statement

The current at-home healthcare experience is one that is fragmented and difficult to navigate, especially for caregivers. Our team set out to design medium to high-fidelity prototypes of an at-home mobile telehealth experience to assist those who are caregivers for their elderly loved ones.

User Group

Adults who are caregivers for their elderly loved ones within the same household. We placed our primary focus on those who also have to balance their caregiving and work life.

What Is Telehealth?

The problem space we explored for this project was within telehealth, a broad area of tech that we defined as:

"All the systems and technologies one would use to provide health and medical care remotely from medical facilities such as hospitals or doctors offices. Within the scope of this project, telehealth mostly refers to online applications and services made to assist caregivers and the people they are caring for."

Navigating through this problem space was very tricky and meticulous, as people rely on telehealth services for their livelihood and health, so our team had to make sure that we approached this space with caution, empathy and understanding.

Approach

Our sponsors requested we incorporate co-design sessions heavily into the research phase of this project, which our team obliged with and utilized as fully as possible. Our co-design sessions helped us understand both our user group and problem space much better, and assisted us in creating the best designs possible.
